It’s that time of year again: New York Fashion Week is in full-swing. Along with the next big fashion trends, the Spring 2018 runways also deliver all of the hair and makeup looks you’ll be dying to try next. The glittery, smudgy, ink-black cat eye by makeup legend Pat McGrath that Gigi Hadid wore at Tom Ford, and the windswept waves seen on Kaia Gerber at Calvin Klein are just a few of the beauty moments we’ve added to our saved posts on Instagram.
Here, we’ve rounded up the best beauty looks from NYFW’s Spring 2018 runways.
1. TOM FORD
THE LOOK: Orlando Pita worked with the models’ natural hair textures or gave them faux pixie cuts that were short on the sides and long on the top, as seen on Gigi Hadid. Makeup legend Pat McGrath swiped on a thick, smudgy, glittery cat eye on the models’ eyes and paired it with a nude lip.
2. BROCK COLLECTION
3. CREATURES OF COMFORT
THE LOOK: Justine Marjan, TRESemmé Global Stylist, worked with the models’ hair textures to give their strands a wind-blown, just-left-the-beach vibe. She applied a heavy amount of TRESemmé TRES Two Mousse on rough, dry hair to achieve the style. Flushed skin rounded out the look.
4. V FILES
THE LOOK: Slicked-back waves, red spray paint, and matching smudgy, blurred, smoky eyes and lips.
5. CALVIN KLEIN
THE LOOK: Effortless and air-dried hair and groomed brows.
6. ADAM SELMAN
THE LOOK: A deep side-part with greased-up waves paired with no-makeup makeup, and accessorized with red talons.
7. ULLA JOHNSON
THE LOOK: A sleek updo and a white reverse cat eye on the lower lash line.
8. TORY BURCH
THE LOOK: Windblown hair and a swipe of black eyeliner just above the eye crease.
9. JASON WU
THE LOOK: Side-parted, slicked-back waves and smudgy cat eyes.
10. CUSHNIE ET OCHS
THE LOOK: A hairline-grazing top knot and clumpy lashes. To create the updo, Justine Marjan, TRESemmé Global Stylist used a whole lot of TRESemmé Smooth Colour Smoothing Serum into models’ hair from root to tip before dividing strands into two ponytails and twisting them together into a bun.
THE LOOK: Models wore low ponytails with face-framing braided tendrils or their natural hair texture. As for the makeup, bronze shadow was brushed all over the lid up to the brow bone, and some models had dabs of red applied to the inner-corner of the eye.
THE LOOK: Sunset eyes and shiny air-dried strands.
THE LOOK: A just-left-the-gym high ponytail and negative space cat eye. Odile Gilbert, TRESemmé NYFW Stylist, used TRESemmé Keratin Smooth Heat Protectant Spray on models’ damp hair to prevent damage from hot tools.
14. BRANDON MAXWELL
THE LOOK: In two words: effortless glamour. Some like Karlie Kloss wore their hair in easy updos, while others wore their strands down with soft texture. Hairstylist James Pecis used Oribe’s Swept Up Powder Spray to add flyaways to the hair. No makeup-makeup rounded out the look.
15. JEREMY SCOTT
THE LOOK: Bling everywhere. Models wore crystals dotted along their under eyes, which was paired with luminous skin and neon talon nails dipped in silver glitter. Hair was styled in sleek ponytails or beachy waves.
THE LOOK: A halo of violet and citron eyeshadow paired with an undone pompadour. Bumble and bumble hair lead Jimmy Paul used Bumble and bumble’s Hairdresser’s Invisible Oil while twisting the top section of the hair into the ’60s-inspired look for extra shine and hold.
17. JILL STUART
THE LOOK: A reverse cat eye and romantic waves with a few random plaits added into the mix for good measure. To give the models’ hairstyles extra volume, Odile Gilbert, TRESemmé NYFW Stylist, blasted their roots with TRESemmé Fresh Start Volumizing Dry Shampoo.
THE LOOK: Shiny strands and a swipe of taupe eyeshadow. Aveda Artist Frank Rizzieri misted the brand’s new Texture Tonic throughout models’ hair to add touchable texture to the style.
19. JONATHAN SIMKHAI
THE LOOK: Party on top, loose waves on the bottom. Odile Gilbert, TRESemmé NYFW Stylist, curled models’ hair tightly into ringlets and broke the curls apart with his fingers. Next, she sprayed TRESemmé Fresh Start Volumising Dry Shampoo allover to create the wild texture before pulling models’ hair into a half-up half-down style. She pulled sporadic fine hairs out around the face to enhance the undone finish. Glowing skin and burnt brown eyeshadow completed the look.
20. ALEXANDER WANG
THE LOOK: As per usual, the Wang Gang wore no-makeup makeup and tousled bedhead hair. Stylist Guido Palau used ghd’s Classic Curl Iron as needed to enhance the models’ slept-in texture. However, colourist Josh Wood took model Stella Lucia’s platinum blonde hair to a supersaturated rose quartz shade for the show. Consider it the rainbow-coloured hair shade everyone is going to want to try next spring.
21. A DETACHER
THE LOOK: Pink eyeshadow all over and a pile of curls on top of models’ heads.
22. PHILLIP PLEIN
THE LOOK: A plethora of eye-catching makeup moments including, but not limited to black cherry lip gloss and glittery smoky eyes. Hair was equally as memorable with flower-adorned, Rapunzel braids and barrel-curled updos.
23. VICTORIA BECKHAM
THE LOOK: Glowy skin and three-minute updos or half-up half-down styles.
24. PUBLIC SCHOOL
THE LOOK: An early-morning bodega runs after a late night. Models wore their hair in its natural texture, which was pulled up in quick low or bubble ponytail. Aveda artist Allen Ruiz used the brand’s new Texture Tonic to create extra moment in the models’ strands. Slept-in, smudgy charcoal eyeshadow completed the look.
25. SIES MARJAN
THE LOOK: Overline your lips, but make it fashion. Some models wore matte cherry red lipstick that was applied over their natural lip lines. Hair was left air-dried and tousled.
26. TANYA TAYLOR
THE LOOK: Justine Marjan, TRESemmé Global Stylist, styled some models’ hair in low ponytails with a strand wrapped around the base. She used TRESemmé TRES Two Hold Hairspray to keep the style intact. She gave the other models undone textured waves. Monochromatic coral blush and lipstick completely the spring-ready look.
27. FENTY PUMA BY RIHANNA
THE LOOK: Next level highlighter. Using shades from Rihanna’s new Fenty Beauty line, resident artist James Kaliardos reached for multiple shades of the Killawatt Freestyle Highlighter including Trophy Wife and the Highlighter Duo in Ginger Binge/Moscow Mule to achieve the effect. Celebrity hairstylist Yusef used Dyson’s Supersonic Hair Dryer to blow-dry models’ hair before pulling their hair into two ponytails and twisting coloured bungee throughout. He connected the two ponys with the bungee and pulled the combined pony through the bungee.
28. PRABAL GURUNG
THE LOOK: Slicked-back wet-look waves paired with your lips but better lipstick paired and groomed brows.
